Steve Wildman is the co-author or co-editor of five books, including Video Economics and Making Universal Service Policy, and numerous articles on economics and policy for communication industries. Prior professional positions include:
- Associate Professor of Communication Studies and Director of the Program in Telecommunications Science, Management & Policy, Northwestern University.

Jonathan A. Obar is a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Telecommunication, Information Studies, and Media at Michigan State University. His work has been published in a variety of academic journals including: the Journal of Broadcasting and Electronic Media, Communication Law & Policy, Journalism Studies, the Free Speech Yearbook and Harvard’s Program on Information Resources Policy. Prior professional positions include: Instructor, College of Communications, The Pennsylvania State University, Research Fellow, Free Press Research interests include: Media and telecommunications regulation, FCC policymaking processes, Political economy of the mass media, Network neutrality, Comparative and international communications.

Johannes M. Bauer is a professor in the Department of Telecommunication, Information Studies, and Media at Michigan State University. He has co-authored and co-edited six books and more than fifty articles on information and communication policy. His work is published in Information Economics and Policy, Telecommunications Policy, Telematics and Informatics, INFO, The Journal of Economic Issues, and Land Economics. Recent research projects were funded by the National Science Foundation, the Ford Foundation, and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Prior professional positions include:

Stephen Lacy is a professor in the Michigan State University Department of Communication and School of Journalism. He has written or co-written more than 85 refereed journal articles, more than 50 refereed conference papers, ten book chapters and four books. He has co-edited two other books and written numerous other articles. He is former co-editor of the Journal of Media Economics. Professor Lacy served as director of the Michigan State University School of Journalism from 1998 to 2003 and is a former president of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC). He has received numerous awards, including the MSU University Distinguished Faculty Award in 2000. He received his undergraduate degree in economics (1971) from the University of Illinois at Urbana, his master's degree in journalism (1979) from Texas A&M University at Commerce, and his Ph.D. in journalism (1986) from the University of Texas at Austin. Before entering the academic world, he was a photographer, and he worked as an editor of three suburban weeklies and a reporter at a suburban daily near Dallas, Texas.

K. Matthew Dames is a Research Fellow at the Quello Center, where his research focuses on copyright law, information policy and legislation, political language and framing, and the history of U.S. media industries. Dr. Dames earned his Ph.D. in Information Science and Technology from Syracuse University, where he was awarded a University Fellowship, an Institute of Museum and Library Services Fellowship, and the University Doctoral Prize. Dr. Dames also has earned his law degree from Northeastern University School of Law, where he was a Nelson Mandela Scholar.
Dr. Dames has been involved with copyright, information policy, and licensing issues for more than 30 years from the perspectives of music, the arts, law, journalism and higher education.
